With two height-adjustable output dynos with maximum torque of 4260 Nm, as well as a 500 kW high-speed input dyno up to 20,000 rpm, a German testing organization is preparing for the future. A distribution box enables the two battery simulators, each with 250 kW 1000A/1000V, to either supply a test specimen with a maximum of 500 kW or simultaneously operate an e-axis and an e-motor, which can be tested at the same time in the testbench. A particular challenge was the tight space conditions in the former combustion engine test bench, which nevertheless allow a track width of large vehicles due to a space-saving design.
