High-Speed Potential of modern Asynchron-Dynos for Driveline Testbench Solutions
For dynamic high-speed applications for powertrain test benches, permanent magnet (PM) dynos have been state-of-the-art for years. This established solution is proven and has many advantages, but also very high costs with regard to the electric machine and converter. GTSystem is currently investigating the potential of this cheaper solution using a test setup with a PM machine from Krebs&Aulich and an optimized asynchronous machine. The machine type has a speed potential of up to 28,000 rpm, a torque of up to 530 Nm and an output of up to 600 kW. So, there is definitely potential for a wide range of applications. An exciting future for the development of e-mobility!
